It's so much yummier than the stuff in the store (and so easy with my Kitchenaide!). I've just been using cream from a local dairy. I save the buttermilk to make pancakes and waffles. Yummo!Jesttihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16622709898005620407noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4859866225851462326.post-73559286903983314562010-01-29T21:06:22.369-05:002010-01-29T21:06:22.369-05:00Wow, I can't believe that you can hold the but...Wow, I can't believe that you can hold the butter like that under the water and squeeze it. That is wild. I would love to find a source for raw milk so I could try things like that. We experimented during our homeschool days, but butter from a carton of processed cream isn't the same, I am sure.Jenniferhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16958981528207127681noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4859866225851462326.post-75952416997071156252010-01-29T17:16:27.495-05:002010-01-29T17:16:27.495-05:00I like your idea of using the Kitchenaid mixer! I ...I like your idea of using the Kitchenaid mixer! I made butter once as a kid by shaking it in a mason jar until it solidified. A bunch of us shook and shook until our arms were tired! The mixer would be a lot less work!

The buttermilk should be fine for recipes calling for buttermilk. That is how buttermilk that you would buy is made, after all!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4859866225851462326.post-91122497991651302672010-01-29T00:58:24.258-05:002010-01-29T00:58:24.258-05:00Yay for butter!
